McGregor's UFC 303 Return Postponed

Fight Against Chandler Called Off

Expected Return to Octagon Delayed

In a disappointing turn of events for fans, Conor McGregor's highly anticipated return to the octagon will have to wait. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced on Thursday night that McGregor's scheduled fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29 in Las Vegas has been canceled.

UFC president Dana White confirmed the news, stating that the decision was made after careful consideration. No specific reason was given for the postponement, but White hinted that circumstances beyond the control of the promotion or the fighters led to the cancellation.

McGregor, a former two-division champion, has been out of action since his knockout loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. He has been teasing a return for several months, and the fight against Chandler was widely seen as his comeback bout.

Chandler, a former Bellator lightweight champion, was also eager for the opportunity to face McGregor. However, with the fight now canceled, both fighters will have to adjust their plans. White did not provide a timeline for McGregor's next fight.

The postponement of McGregor's return is a blow to the UFC, which was counting on the event to generate significant interest and revenue. However, fans remain hopeful that McGregor will eventually return to the octagon and deliver the action-packed fights they have come to expect from him.
